Even as we
were welcoming the Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament this evening, I was reminded
so vividly of the Gospels telling us about Jesus going through Galilee in the
same way.
Jesus went
to every town and village of Galilee.
I repeat:
he went to every town and village of Galilee speaking to people of God’s love
for them, reminding them of words God said in the old testament.
Can a
mother forget the child in her womb? Can a woman forget the baby that comes
from her own body? And God said:
"Even
if this mother forgets, I will not forget you, for I have caught you on the
palm of my hand but I don’t need even to do that because you’re always in my
mind. You are always in my thoughts".
And as
Jesus went to every town and every village of the Galilee, he was proclaiming
God's love to every person and at all times and he was bringing them God’s healing
and deliverance to every person at all times.
Sometimes
the person themselves they were sick, came to Jesus, like a young lady in this
evening who saw the program on the TV and came running here to be prayed over.
And at
other times Jesus went us as own to the sick people.
And other
times the family and friends of Jesus of the sick man brought the person to
Jesus.
Even as these
days it was so beautiful to see parents bringing their children to be prayed
for, friends bringing their loved ones to be prayed for by Jesus.
But
sometimes Jesus himself went to the sick people.
And as the
Blessed Sacrament was taken around, it reminded me Jesus himself is coming in
our meets.
And
therefore let us bring to our minds three incidents what Jesus met the sick
people, three stories about how Jesus encountered those who were needed him.
One day,
when Jesus was going from Jericho to Jerusalem, he passed by a blind man
waiting at the gate of Jericho and when this blind man hearing that it was
Jesus who was passing that way, he began to shout out to Jesus:
- Jesus, son
of David! Have mercy on me! Jesus, help me!
People at
first shouted at the man so he would not disturb more Jesus. But the man was
shouting louder and louder and then Jesus heard his cries.
Tonight,
like the blind man, in the hearts, we need to cry out to Jesus.
-
Jesus,
save me, heal me, free me!
And then
Jesus called the blind man to himself and the blind man went running to us
Jesus.
And in our
hearts we need also to run to us Jesus. To blind man till leave drop his
clothes so that he could run faster to us Jesus, we need to put away from our
lives everything that slow us to running to us Jesus.
When the
blind man came to Jesus, what did Jesus do? Jesus did not heal him at once,
Jesus asked him a question. Jesus asked him:
- What do
you want?
"What...
do you... want?"... And as we ran to us Jesus, the Lord is asking us the
same question:
- What do
you want? What do you want me to do for you?
Jesus knew
that blind man want do to seeing. But Jesus wanted to him to said that: "I
want to see". Jesus wanted the blind man to reflect and to ask not just a
physical healing of eyes outside, but the emotional and spiritual healing of
eyes outside.
Tonight the
Lord is asking each one of you the same question:
- What do
you want?
Let's look
into our hearts and know what exactly is the most important thing we need to
ask to Jesus tonight.
Some of
came these days for a physical healing of sicknesses with are really so painful
and dreadfully.
Some of
came these days with tears in their eyes asking to Lord to heal their broken
marriages or breaking marriages.
Some
mothers have come asking the Lord to free that drug addicted sons or their
alcoholic husband.
Some have
come asking the Lord to delivery them from a very strong demoniac influence on
their lives.
- What do
you want?
Yes, Lord
Jesus, we bring to you every person here that needs in the first place a deep
spiritual healing, the healing of the broken relationship with you.
We bring to
you Lord: those who were been hurt very much by their own family members.
Lord, heal
them, even in their family tree. Heal them,
Lord,
during their nine months of their mothers wombs.
Heal them,
Lord, during their years of their painful childhood.
Heal them
Lord, during the turbulent years of their youth.
Heal them
Lord, during their painful years of their marriage.
Lord, we
bring to your presence all those who are sick in their bodies.
Lord, we
bring to you those who came today: who are blind, those children who are dumb
and even deaf, those persons who were come across accidents and now are
paralyzed.
Lord, we
bring to you the many people that came these days because they are suffering
from cancer.
Lord, we
bring to you the many, many people that came so violently tormented by Satan.
Lord, we
are here before your presence.
Lord, we
fell we are unable to help them. But, Lord, you remind us: “what is impossible
to man is possible to God”.
Lord Jesus,
you are asking each one of us:
- What do
you want?
And Lord,
we now speak to you the burdens of our heart.
With Mary
and Martha, we say:
- Lord, the
one whom you love is sick.
And as we
speak to Jesus, the wounds and burdens of our lives, that as the Holy Spirit to
sweep over our wounds and pains.
Living
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bring your healing
to my heart you
Let me love
once again
Leaving
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bring your
healing to my heart
Let me love
once again
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
You are so
gentle
So pure and
so kind
You shine
Like the morning
star
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
And now
Jesus goes to another place to meet sick people. It is not the sick there are
coming to him now, he is going to the sick people, to a big healing center, a
healing pool of water, where hundreds of
sick people are there: the blind, the lame, the paralyzed.
And the
same Jesus has coming to our presence tonight looking at all of ours sick here,
and Jesus goes to one special person, a man that has been paralyzed for 38 long
years. Jesus goes just to him.
Tonight
each one of us is that paralyzed man sick for 38 years. Each one of us is
special to Jesus, each of us are unable to help ourselves. And Jesus goes to
this paralyzed man and asks him a question.
What is
that question?
What is
that question?
- Do you
want to be healed?
"Do
you want to be healed?": tonight Jesus is asking the same question:
- Do you
want to be healed?
And the man
told to Jesus:
- Nobody is
that to help me to be healed. I'm alone.
Like a
young lady that came to us yesterday, alone. Her mother and father were killed,
were shot by robbers. Her brother whom she loved was now married, he has own
family and she is alone in that house.
And the man
told Jesus:
- This no
one to help me to go into the pool and be healed.
And Jesus
tells him:
- But now I
am here. I am here to help you.
Jesus ask
him the question:
- Do you
want be healed?
Perhaps
that man had lost all hope for this healing. He was prepared to live all his
life as a sick man and die as sick man.
But now
Jesus had came and asked to him:
- Do you
want to be healed?
Sometimes
the doctor depresses when asks a sick man who do not want cooperating:
- Do you
want to be healed?
Sometimes
the sick man asks to a priest, a question to God:
- When will
I be healed?
But now,
who is asking this question? Not man, but God. It is Jesus who is asking this
question. It is the love of God in Jesus asking this question:
- Do you
want to be healed?
- Are you
ready to pay the costs of your healing?
- Are you
ready to repent?
- Are you
ready to ask forgiveness of God for all of sins of your life?
- Are you
ready to ask forgiveness of every person in your life that you have hurt?
- Are you
prepared to forgive every person that have hurt you?
- Do you
repent for have broken the first commandment for having gone to wrong people,
to witch-doctors for help?
- Do you
renounce Satan, and all of his works and all of his sorceries?
- Do you
renounce the kingdom of Satan in your own life, in your own personal sins?
- Do you
renounce the kingdom of Satan and world around you? The false promisses of the world,
the various attractions of this word?
- Do you renounce
every ocult practices, you or your family may have ever done?
- Do you
renounce having gone to witch-doctors and even Satan for help in any way?
- Do you
want to be healed?
Leaving
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bring your
healing to my heart
Let me love
once again
Living
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bring your
healing to my heart
Let me love
once again
Jesus, wonder
what you are
You are so
gentle
So pure and
so kind
You shine
Like the
morning star
Jesus,
wonder what you are
(Applause)
And now
Jesus is met by a family and the family has a burden on their hearts. Two of
their friends of their relatives are blind, and they bring these blind men to Jesus.
Jesus looks at them, Jesus looks at love and the faith of the family and of the
friends. The family and the friends believe in Jesus, they have faith, they are
full of love.
How many
people these days brought the little children, those loved ones, to us to pray.
I was so edified by that great faith in Jesus. I was so impressed by the great
love for these sick relatives and friends.
But Jesus
looked at the two blind men and Jesus felt that they did not believe.
How many
people these days have came to us saying to us:
- Father,
pray for my son, but he does not believe in God.
- Father,
pray for my husband, but he even not come here for the program.
And Jesus
looked at these two blind men, they did not really believe. But Jesus looked at
the faith and love of their family and their friends and Jesus said:
- And is
for this sake I am going to heal these blind men.
And then
Jesus asked them a question:
- Do you
believe that I can heal them?
- Do you
believe I can do it for you?
And that
question of Jesus did something for these blind men. They realized them that
they did not have faith and the question of Jesus brought faith into their
lives. And they could tell to Jesus:
- Lord, we
believe. - And they were healed.
Tonight the
Lord is asking each one of us the same question:
- Do you
believe that I can do this for you?
- Do you
believe that I can heal you?
- Do you
believe that I can free you from the power of Satan themselves?
How many
people in these 5 days have come to us telling us they have been to so many
doctors, so many psychiatrists, spent so many months in hospitals e they were
only getting worse.
How many
people have came and told us:
- In our despair
we went to some witch-doctor.
- We went
to some alternative medicine.
- We went
to some new religious movements.
- We went
to mediums.
- And we
have only became much worse.
How many
people have told us that in their despair, that pain, they consecrated
themselves to Satan.
How many
people said us that their enemies did put a spell on them, destroying their
lives.
And now
they realize that medicine alone can not heal them.
All of
those religious movements, all of those witch-doctors have only made them more
sick and burdened.
And these
days they have come to Jesus.
I could see
in their eyes signs of hope optimism, because now they believe that Jesus alone
can heal them.
Tonight
Jesus is asking each of us the same question:
- Do you
believe I can heal you?
- Do you put
your full trust in me?
- Do you
believe that I died just for you on Calvary’s cross?
- Do you believe
that I've giving you my gift of the Holy Spirit so that you can have a new
life?
- Do you
believe that by my wounds and my stribes you are now being healed?
- Do you
believe that you can become a new creation?
- Do you
believe that I am here to make all things new?
Living
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bring your
healing to my heart
Let me love
once again
Leaving
waters flow on
Sweep away
my pain
Bringing
you healing to my heart
Let me love
once again
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
You are so
gentle
So pure and
so kind
You shine
Like the
morning star
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
You are so
gentle
So pure and
so king
You shine
Like the
morning star
Jesus, what
a wonder you are
(Applauses)
